Blackhawk Country Club is an upscale private 36 hole facility with two distinct golf courses. The Lakeside Course was originally built in the mid-1970s followed by the construction of the Falls Course in the mid-1980s. Each course has its own distinct character. Casey O’Callaghan Golf Course Design, Inc. was brought on board as the consulting architect for Blackhawk Country Club in 2009. Since then, Casey has helped guide significant modifications to both courses. The Falls Course completed a multiyear renovation of the sand bunkers in 2022 that significantly enhance the beauty, strategy, and playability of the course. Prior to the bunker renovation we worked closely with the club to transition 17 acres of out of play golf course grass areas to drought tolerant landscaping. Casey’s work on the Lakeside Course includes a sand bunker renovation as well as upgrades to the practice range facility.
